How ironic, commented Bas van Hout in De Volksrant, that Ferry de Kok, himself a convicted criminal, can cause such upset to such a man - dat een ex-crimineel de minister van Justitie aan het wankelen brengt... With mere (my emphasis) photographs - met fotos.

Scenes from the wedding party in Bloemendaal were first published in celebrity gossip magazine Privé. They showed Mr Grapperhaus, just married to Elsevier journalist Elisabeth Wytzes, apparently shaking hands with guests, failing to maintain social distance and hugging his new mother-in-law - en omhelst hij zijn schoonmoeder. His opponents on both the political left and populist right sniffed the scent of hypocrisy.
